Windsor Great Park

WINGS2003 was based in Windsor Great Park close to the historic town of Windsor in Berkshire UK. Click here for a photograph of the main WINGS2003 Site.

Windsor Great  Park is part of the estate connected to  Windsor Castle home of the Queen. The Great Park is largely an area of open grasslands and woodlands. It has a long history of  great Scouting events reaching back as far as 1911 with a rally of  30,000 Scouts with the King. In 1920, some of the Scouts participating in the 1st World Jamboree in 1920 at Olympia London camped at Windsor Old Deer Park. More recently it has hosted two great international camps WINGS98 and WINGS93.

Windsor Great park is also home to Bears Rails a picturesque permanent Scout Campsite managed by Windsor District.
